Titanium wedding bands have several advantages over other metals. Titanium is harder and stronger than traditional jewelry metals like gold and platinum, but is very light in weight and does not scratch as easily as other metals. It is also corrosion resistant and hypoallergenic.
Natural titanium is a smoky gray color, but it can reflect a range of colors through a process called anodizing.
Titanium rings can be cleaned with basic household products in order to maintain their luster and shine.
Firstly, fill a small bowl with warm water, add a few drops of dish liquid and stir until sudsy.
Secondly, soak ring in soapy water for one-half hour. Use a soft bristle toothbrush to clean any engraved areas, use a soft cloth to rub the ring to remove oil and dirt.
Thirdly, rinse the platinum ring in a bowl of clean water, remove the ring and let it dry on a towel.
Then, spray the ring with ammonia glass cleaner, rub with a soft cloth. Rinse and wipe dry with another clean soft cloth.
Finally, rub the ring with a small amount of cream metal polish and a soft cloth to remove scratches. Re-soak the ring in soapy water and rub with a cloth to remove excess polish, rinse in clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
